Plot spoiler this, but who cares not to know!
Woman falls in love with man (on first voice, touch, smell; definitely not sight). Woman wants more. She is Indian. Woman gets it, complete with the love child. (Now how did this pass the censor snips? A bunch of nitwits, you don't have to see sex to delete it, hints of unprotected sex is reason enough; probably weren't clever enough to trace back the child's lineage).
No worries. Story moves forward a good many years. You are almost sure of what's going to happen when it happens.
Woman turns the patriot. Woman becomes heroine. Well, from her frivolity, she was heroine enough.
Had it been animated, it would have been more realistic.
I terribly lament the death of Jaspal Bhatti. Welcome back before you went. I totally adore Aamir Khan, he is just looking younger and more affable, and better haircuts just does it to him.
I am totally bowled by the acute scientific knowledge the director so cunningly demonstrates - some physics was responsible for dead bodies swimming up-hill (well, wasnt the fall deep? and paradise certainly is way up) and meeting up relations, en route to paradise. It helps when you die in paradise itself. I am sure the director just fell short of handing Kajol a harpoon to fish out her wayward dad.
And the ATU promising Kajol of catching her up the next day "hum kal subah waha pahoochenge" is almost like Airtel promising to call me up in the next 15 minutes. No wonder, we are good at being obscure.
But ok, let me not be so sarcastic. At 2 am, the movie solved the purpose of turning open some tear gates, and kept me awake as required. What didn't happen after that is another matter.
