Online Sociability Index

An indepth research into random people's scrapbooks (yes, Orkut it is!) shows that it stands as a good measure of the Online Sociability Index (OSI, scale of 3 to 8) of the person, which can be further extrapolated, under certain assumptions, to the Overall Sociability Index (OSIi scale of 5 to 11) of the same person and other important deductions on the IT front in India.

The study is based on the scrapbook of a typical, available, popular, early 20s hip female. What the heck, take Amrita Mahale as the scapegoat ( though the required qualities mentioned above are dubious in this female's case, we have a really participative and fat scrapbook here).

The research is in its nascent stages, hence, the report itself will not be available for public viewing. But the deductions and corollaries will be presented herewith. A few pointers:

"Wanna be frenz, Add me if you wanna" scrap - sloppy, depressed, social outcasts (OSIi <= 5) have got access to internet, which means internet has reached the jobless class of society, which again boasts highly of the IT penetration in India.

"Sam done this, Sam done that" scrap - useless lazy people with high OSI (>= 5) since they increase their sociability on the pretext of a third, nonchalant party, but with dismal OSIi (< 6) since this encourages gossip. Internet access no doubt soars.

"Hi, long time no c" scrap - Underperformance of the orkut member under research on the OSI front. The numbers are still being processed. From available data, this could mean that the subject has taken to more proactive means to increasing her OSIi, which, if properly researched, may indicate a rise in chat hours, phone bills and a desolate boyfriend.

With an extensive Coding and Classification Algorithm, all of the subject's 3000 odd scraps can be more or less classified into categories, a few examples of which are provided above.
